Workshop participants embodied the movement of Initial Dissent by exploring states of tension and two sections of original choreography from the performance. This workshop was designed for advanced dance students, pre-professional dancers, and professional dancers.
DancEast Company Masterclass: Running Out

Workshop participants embodied the movement of Running Out by learning original choreography from the performance. This workshop was designed for advanced dance students, pre-professional dancers, and professional dancers. The workshop started with Hoback’s “Forms and Flows” warm up to first strengthen and then challenge alignment and stability in the body.

Embodied Improvisation

HOSTED AT THE ISTANBUL FRINGE FESTIVAL, WHICH BRINGS TOGETHER DIVERSITY AND NOVELTY WITH THE DYNAMIC AND MULTI-CULTURAL PERFORMING ARTS SCENE OF ISTANBUL, TURKEY.
This class explores a range of movement modalities through an imaginative improvisation practice. We will connect to our bodies in a nuanced and meditative way, exploring behavior in the body, density within negative space, and a spectrum of textural qualities. We'll engage in improvisation games, taking the information from our individual solo practice into group composition and play.

Cultivating Physical Awareness, Empowerment, & Empathy
Body View Community Workshops consist of a movement class, performance, discussion, and written reflection. Each session aims to empower participants to explore their relationships with their bodies, move towards body integration and acceptance, and experience art and physicality as outlets for creative self-expression, processing, presence, and connection.
